The process

The burn-off ovens ARRAS MAXEI are meant to the unwinding of the motors through thermal damage (pirolyse) of the insulants (varnishes).
The principle is based on the temperature maintaining of the load (between 300 and 400°C) between 3 and 8 hours, according to the kind of varnish and of load.

During the temperature increase till 300° C, the varnishes undergo a slow decomposition that enables their carbonization from 320°C. The fumes released at this threshold are injected in a thermal oxidation device that raises their temperature at about 850°C.
At this temperature the fumes are totally burnt to enable the discharge into the atmosphere of non polluting gases. More information

To optimize the burning time, ARRAS MAXEI has developed an auto-adaptative automatism in function to the load and type of varnish to burn. This auto-adaptative principle is based on the thermal control during the degasing phases of the varnish. The installation of such a device on the burn-off ovens enables to optimize the cycle time for each unwinding work.
